Easy Homemade “Leftover” Vanilla Ice Cream

Easy Ice Cream Without An Ice Cream Maker

Nothing goes better with chocolate cake than vanilla ice cream. It is the perfect pair. When you make the Flourless Chocolate Salted Caramel Cake you will want vanilla ice cream to serve it with. And, as I discovered while making the caramel sauce for the amazing flourless chocolate cake, you will be left with just enough sweetened condensed milk to make your own vanilla ice cream from scratch. Seriously what else are you going to do with the left over sweetened condensed milk?

Easy, three ingredients and oh so delicious.

Easy Homemade “Leftover” Vanilla Ice Cream

Ingredients:
1 cup heavy whipping cream
1/2 can sweetened condensed milk (left over from the caramel sauce in the flourless chocolate cake you are now baking)
1 teaspoon real vanilla extract
a pinch of salt

Directions:
Whip the whipping cream in your stand mixer until soft peaks form.
Fold in the sweetened condensed milk and vanilla extract.
Add a pinch of salt and fold again.

Pour vanilla yumminess into a freezer safe container, cover and freeze for 4-6 hours.

That is it! Vanilla ice cream with no fancy ice cream maker and no crazy steps. Simple deliciousness! Enjoy.

Now why didn’t I think of that? Do you know how much sweetened condensed milk I’ve thrown out over the years? In fact, after making a dessert bar recipe this week, I have some sitting in my fridge right now. Thank you!
