The Great Kitchen Remodel 5: Trusting the Process & The Reveal

Fifth Installment Detailing the Live Pretty Family Kitchen Remodel

When we packed up the kitchen, family room, laundry room and living room “stuff” and moved out of our house so the kitchen remodel could begin, we embarked on an adventure that would change the way we live in our house forever.

During this time so many people asked me what we learned from the process of the remodel.  I have shared our choices in counter tops, appliances and cabinet with all of you.  But, here’s what we learned through the process:
1. Once our choices were made we were wise not to change our minds.
2. We needed to be patient and let the people we hired do their jobs, to trust in their professionalism and talent.
3. We should check up on the project every day while living out of our home if only to satisfy ourselves that work was being completed.
4.  We needed to trust the process.

A very good friend of mine had gone through a kitchen remodel a year before we did.  The most important advise she gave was, “Roseddy, trust the process. These people have been through remodeling projects before. They know what they are doing, and you need to trust that the process will be completed as planned.”  And, it was.  As the days and weeks passed by, that phrase, “trusting the process”, echoed through my mind over and over.  She was right, so very right. That became the most important learning experience of all.  Thank you Kathy.

This is how our kitchen looks today.  It is so enjoyable to have friends come into our home and say “Wow, are we in the right house?”

Our kitchen went from this …

I want to thank the following contractors and suppliers for making our kitchen our favorite room in the house, and for their talent, enthusiasm, professionalism and hard work:

The matriarch of Live Pretty, Roseddy, lives with her husband and children in Orlando, Florida. She is a native of Waynesburg, PA, but she has called the Sunshine State home for over thirty years. In addition to being a fantastic cook, Roseddy is an accomplished seamstress and former Home Economics instructor. Her flower arranging talents are the stuff of legend, and she is a valued member of her church’s altar guild. Roseddy enjoys entertaining, traveling with her husband, and, of course, a good martini.
