Simple 5 Ingredient Fresh Bread: Delicious Homemade Love

Homemade Bread Made Easy

My family loves bread (especially fresh bread), which means they go through a lot of it. When my girls were very young, soy allergies were an issue and this eliminated most baked products from our household. Soy is in everything, since most “vegetable oil” is soy bean based.  So, we were in quite a pickle, or soy bean dilemma, and that was simply not acceptable.

I wanted and needed to know exactly what was in our bread. I grew up with home made, fresh bread, pastries and cookies as every day staples, so I started doing what my momma taught me to do, BAKE it myself. Out of this quest (reading many ingredients and recipes) for a simple delicious and soy free, fresh bread that I could quickly and easily make myself came my 5-ingredient bread. Enjoy this simply delicious and simple-to-make delight.

Simple 5-Ingredient Bread:
3 1/2 Cups All purpose flour
1 Tablespoon kosher salt
1 Tablespoon granulated sugar
1/2 packet active dry rapid rise yeast (1 1/8 teaspoons)
1 3/4 Cups filtered water at room temperature
(melted butter to brush on top, optional)

Stir together the flour, yeast, salt and sugar in your stand mixer bowl by hand.

Continue stirring by hand using your dough hook.

Slowly add the water and hand mix until the mixture starts to come together.

Engage the dough hook and have your mixer mix the dough for 3 minutes on the lowest speed.

Then, knead the dough for 4 more minutes on the lowest speed.
The dough should look like a wet ball.
Coat a large bowl with cooking spray, or oil, and dump the dough into it.

Cover it with plastic wrap and allow to raise for at least 45 minutes.

Once it begins to try to escape from the covered bowl (or raise), remove the raised dough onto a floured surface and gently kneed into a loaf shape.

So Pretty!
Place the dough loaf in a greased baking pan, brush with melted butter (optional), and again cover and allow to raise for 20-30 minutes more.

Remove plastic wrap and place baking loaf pan in the oven.
Bake at 350 degrees F for 30-45 minutes.
Watch it closely and cover with foil if it begins to brown too quickly.
Remove from oven and allow to cool, if you can stand it.

If not, gently cut and enjoy. There simply isn’t anything like home made bread fresh from the oven.
