Weekend Links: Pretty Awesome Smart & Yummy Eating Sites
A List of Our Favorite Smart Eating Sites
The term “healthy eating” brings so many visuals to our minds … many of which are, well, blah.
Healthy eating can often be fairly boring … no luscious buttery, creamy ingredients and little to no lovely sugar. But as I continue to learn how to cook in a more healthy and smart way, I have found that cooking “healthy,” “clean,” or, as I like to call it “smart” — with both body and taste buds in mind — can be exciting, beautiful and wonderfully pleasing.
So, here are some of my favorite sources for smart eating to enjoy perusing this weekend. Have a Pretty Awesome one!
My New Roots – based in Denmark, Sarah Britton, holistic nutritionist and vegetarian chef shares beautiful healthy and unique recipes. I’m trying to work these Parsley Roots Fries and Roasted Tomato Ketchup into my recipe-try list very soon.
Simple Bites – I’ve written about Simple Bites before and highlighted their recipes here several times, but this is really one of those sites that I keep an eye on in my RSS feeds every single day. Beautiful recipes, really simple, really healthy.
The Nourished Kitchen – Nourished Kitchen’s goal is to promote sustainable agriculture and nutrient-dense, whole foods in everyday kitchens. The focus is awesome: unrefined foods prepared according to traditional methods.
Mommypotomous – I first checked out this blog when I heard the name … loved it then, and love it even more each day. Her recipes are beautiful, and her philosophy on life is wonderful.
Produce for Kids — This past weekend I had the opportunity to stroll through the Southeast Produce Council convention in Tampa thanks to the folks at Produce for Kids, and while checking out their booth I discovered that they have great recipes for family dinner and ideas for kids of all ages (including those both big and little). I absolutely trying these smoothie pops for my kiddo soon.
Aggie’s Kitchen — Aggie is as lovely in person as she is on her blog, and her recipes are wonderful. Looking forward to making these Baked Parmesan Zucchini Sticks, yummm …..
Peanut Butter Fingers — Julie has endless energy, a joyful spirit and a great appetite for wholesome and yummy food. I can not wait to try this Dark Chocolate Avocado Mousse.
The Gracious Pantry — Tiffany shares beautiful recipes with clean, real and whole ingredients. I especially love her grab and go section — a great list of recipes that any busy person can pull together for the week.
Enjoy!
Julia
