Pretty Awesome Weekends: It’s Fall!

OK, I was mourning the end of summer a few weeks back, but now I am getting comfortable with Fall in Florida.  The night air is a cooler, I am in the mood for apples and cinnamon and the fall colors are showing up here and there in the landscape (mostly in colored flowers and shrubs – it is Florida after all and will be green all over for several more months).

So this week in Pretty Awesome Weekends I wanted to share a few favorite Fall links on this, the first day of fall:

  • Pumpkin Spice Coffee-mate – If you see this in the store, buy it.  Buy it now because, chances are, it will disappear as soon as it hits the shelves.  Now, while a Pumpkin Spice Latte from that coffee place is awesome, it is over 200 calories even when fat free, and for 70 calories I can add two tablespoons of this to my coffee at home. Cheaper and a smarter indulgence.
  • Easy Fall Decor – I am not crafty and I bow down to those who are.  I simply don’t have the patience or time to create decorations, I’d love to, but that is not a battle I choose to go into these days because I’d be the man down. So, I shop around for my decorations and always love these — Pottery Barn just knows how to make things that are not too expensive and not too cutesy while being beautiful.
  • Push Pop Cinnamon Rolls – I saw these a few weeks back on tipjunkie.com and would love to make them for the little (and big) kids in my life. A fun indulgence.
  • You Silly Pumpkin – I always love those pumpkin e-mails I’ll get right around Halloween with pumpkins in all sorts of silly and funny pictures.  This site has tons of them and is great brain candy while also having ideas that you can recreate at home easily.
  • Oh Sweet Paul – I love this online magazine and the fall edition is just so beautiful, you’ll feel immersed in the feeling of autumn right away.
  • Virtual Leaf Change – In Florida the leaves on our trees don’t drop much until January, so I am continually wishing I had the opportunity to see the leaves change.  But this year it’s not going to happen; so I’ll have to appease myself by looking through this Better Photo Autumn Pictures album.

Have an awesome first weekend of fall!  Have something with pumpkin or cinnamon to mark it :-).

Love ya,

Jul
