Bridesmaid’s Punch

A bridal shower needs an appropriately girly cocktail.  How about Bridesmaid’s Punch.

I discovered this recipe while looking for a refreshing cocktail to serve on a hot Florida day.  In looking for something light, I discovered a lemonade cocktail in a magazine.  It sounded tasty so I bought the ingredients to test it out.   However, I made a few substitutions because I didn’t want a drink that was too sweet.   The result was a very tasty drink that our guests adored!

Of the drinks offered at the shower (cucumber water, sparkling water, iced tea, wine and coffee), this Bridesmaid’s Punch was by far the most popular drink …

Guests didn’t even notice the imported Italian wine I bought especially for the shower!

Bridesmaid’s Punch

INGREDIENTS

1 (12 oz) can of frozen pink lemonade concentrate
1 (750 ml) bottle of chardonnay
1/2 c citrus vodka
One bottle sparkling water
One lemon (sliced into thin circles)

DIRECTIONS

  1. Mix pink lemonade, chardonnay and vodka in a container.
  2. Fill a glass pitcher with ice.
  3. Pour mixture halfway into glass pitcher.
  4. Garnish with lemon circles.
  5. Top off with sparking water to fill the pitcher.

Serves 6.

TIPS:  I advise doubling or tripling the recipe.  Have a backup ready and keep the mixture in the refrigerator, along with sparking water, so you can refill as necessary.  I don’t recommend pouring the sparkling water until you are ready to serve.

Also, have a few bags of ice on hand.  You never know when you will need ice!

Check in the drink station often to see if refills are needed, or assign someone to supervise drinks.  If you assign this task, go over what drinks are available, where the backup is and what is needed as they keep the pitchers full. They’ll need to keep an eye on this bridesmaid punch.

Make sure to have a taste while you are preparing for the shower!
