Bridal Shower Baked Brie – Sweet & Savory Heaven

Baked Brie Basics

As the menu continues to unfold this week, I am here to introduce one of our all time favorites, and a staple at most Live Pretty parties. Whether it’s a Friday night happy hour, or a beautiful Bridal Shower afternoon tea, Baked Brie has a place at your table.

The best part about this crowd pleasing favorite is it is SO EASY. Quickly and simple made ahead of time, Baked Brie is a must. For the shower we made two rounds; one baked for the ladies, and one baked after the shower was over for the family barbeque that was held that evening. We didn’t want to leave the guys out of this completely.

Ingredients:
1 puff pastry from your local grocery store
1 Brie Cheese round
1/2 cup finely chopped sundried tomatoes

Directions:
Heat over to 350 degrees F
Thaw (if frozen) and gently roll out pastry on a lightly flowered surface
Cut your Brie round in two, creating a top and bottom round
Spread Sun Dried tomatoes on bottom half of cut Brie round
re join the cut Brie half (now the tomatoes are in between the layers
Place the Brie on the pastry dough and gently fold the dough around the Brie, creating a completely wrapped round
Place the wrapped brie fold side down into a glass baking dish
Bake for about 20 minutes, or until pastry is golden brown and fluffy
Allow to cool slightly
Sprinkle top of brie with a few table spoons full of remaining sundried tomatoes

Enjoy!

This fabulous looking and amazingly delicious treat is very versatile. Don’t like sundried tomatoes? Try what you like. Pesto is also a great filler as is raspberry jam. Serve it with crackers and watch it disappear.
