Teach Smart Wednesday
What Would You Want From a Guest Lecturer?
Today, I was the guest lecturer for a Marketing class at the University of Tampa. I was invited to come in and share my marketing wisdom. I think it went well, I only saw one student sleeping…
I was asked to talk about my career path and case studies. Real Life experiences the students could relate to their text book findings. I did that. But, I thought about what I would’ve wanted from a guest lecturer. So, I added my spin.
In addition to highlighting my professional journey, I added Tips For Their Journey. This section included suggestions on identifying their passions and strengths. And suggestions that they align their career path with their passions. A bit lofty (or premature) for some college students, maybe. But, worth taking that as an opportunity to plant seeds of Working Smart. And, Living Smarter.
Afterward, a few students thanked me. Better yet, they started to ask me how to stay passionate and follow a passion that seems so out of reach at this point. I dug it. I may have just made a slight impact.
And the homework….create their personal Board of Directors (reference previous post).
A big Thanks to my Life Coach, Sara T.
