Spring: Lovely, Lovely Spring
Appreciation for Spring
As a Floridian I have no place to complain about cold winters … really about 30 degrees is the closest we get to a cold moment here. But, with the temps making their way back into the 80’s, I have to say, no scream … “THANK GOD SPRING IS HERE!!!!”
The boots are going away, the sweaters are back in their storage bags and my toes are enjoying not being wrapped up in suffocating socks and stockings every day; they are happily wiggling away while back in their proper place, my flip-flops. I feel like a butterfly breaking out of a cocoon … I was meant to wear sandals and dresses every day. Really, no kidding, sweaters, jackets and boots suffocate me. God moved me to Florida at age 5 because he knew …
The end of winter in Florida does come earlier than the rest of the country, but, let’s face it, that is why we live here. Forget the upcoming 90-degree weather, hurricanes and ongoing dependence on air conditioning, these next few months of sunny, warm and joyful weather are what we all live for each year.
So, while walking around this weekend, I could not help but take a few shots of the beautiful blooming flowers and green that is all around to share with you. Especially if you are one of the many unlucky souls still looking up at gray skies.
