Super Quick, Super Bowl Snacks

Amy’s Super Simple Super Bowl Sweets

Amy is the one you want to be with during a game like the Super Bowl. DRY sense of humor that makes the entire event fun. She’s passionate about the game, offers laughs and some good food. I’m still waiting to be invited to her home (I’ve only been asking for 6 years now), but she’s been to ours a few times and we love having her around. I asked Amy what’s on her Super Bowl grazing table this year and she offered this quick and simple recipe that I’d like to share. As you know, I cannot leave well enough alone when it comes to food, so I may just add a few tips to change it up a bit.

Super Bowl Sweets – Recipe
On a cookie sheet, spread a bag of Pretzel Snaps.
Place a Rolo on top of each and place in 300 degree oven for 3 minutes.
Remove and press a pecan half on top and let it cool for a few hours.

As Amy said – “OMG!”

Add ons:
While the snap may offer a bit of saltiness, think about sprinkling the fresh-from-oven bite with course sea salt (not much) on top of the melted chocolate, caramel goodness. How about using a spicy pecan? Kick it up a notch.

Thank you, Amy, for the recipe (from a friend of a friend’s friend’s next door neighbor – I’ve also heard these called turtles). Let me know when you finally finish that ‘project’ that’s keeping you from inviting us over. Bringing back memories of all those girls who always had to wash their hair on Saturday nights….

My friend Ross chimed in with Peanut Butter Jalapeno Boats. Now, this seems like something that may be either an acquired taste, or something that’s good after some beer, but worth sharing nonetheless. I’m not a peanut butter eater, but give it a try.

Recipe: Well, I’m thinking it’s jalapenos sliced in half length wise and stuffed with peanut butter.

Enjoy the game.
